All classes follow Monday-Wednesday schedule.
Monday 8/19: Icebreaker Activity: Student to Student; Brainstorming Class Rewards for Class Procedures; Project: Name Design (due Friday, 8/23). With this project, students are designing the front covers of their class folders. The design includes their name as well as images representing their interests and also includes various shapes, patterns and colors.
Tuesday, 8/20: Review for Procedure Quiz (Friday, 8/23); Project:Name Design
Wednesday, 8/21: Continue Name Design Project; In-Class Activities. For In-Class Activities, students can choose exercises to complete that improve their drawing skills. These activities bridge the gap between the current and next project as some students finish at different paces. These exercises do count for class credit.
Thursday, 8/22: 6th Grade: Begin Line Variety Project. Students experiment with line, shape, pattern and movement as they create various patterns of lines.
7th Grade: Begin Construction Paper Abstract Art. Students will lean about abstract designs and focus on movement, balance and emphasis when creating their artwork with various colors and shapes.
8th Grade: Begin Oil Pastel Exercises. Students will learn about the differences of pastel compared to other materials used to create art. Next, students will complete two exercises that help them use pastels to create colors, designs and blending techniques.
