Monday 9/9:
6th: Continue Shading with Ebony Pencils and Shading Objects with Watercolor: Students are practicing drawing three-dimensional shapes and adding values (shadows/shading) according to a light source. Students will complete three shapes and values with pencil and three shapes with watercolor.
7th: Complete Exercises in Creating Value and Using Cool and Warm Colors: Students are creating a value scale and adding value to a drawing they transfer using a grid. Students are also completing drawings by adding cool and warm colors to observe and learn about the differences of values in colors.
8th: Begin/Continue Designs for Monochromatic Monogram Paintings: Students are taking the letters of their initials to form a design by repeating the letters and forming patterns. Next, students will fill in the designs with one color, its tints and shades.
Tuesday and Wednesday, 9/10:
6th: Begin Creating Skin Tones and Abstract Paintings with Watercolor: Students will experiment mixing colors to create realistic tones for skin colors. Next, students will learn about geometric and organic shapes and combine them in an abstract design that allows them to continue creating different tints and shade with watercolor.
7th: Complete Exercise in Placing Shapes in Still Life Designs; Begin Still Life with Fruit: Students will follow a brief demonstration of placing objects of a still life in a blank space for a drawing. Next, students will draw their first still life from a fruit arrangement.

7th: Complete Still Life with Fruit, Begin Still LIfe with Shoes: Students will observe the varying lines, shapes and shadows in worn shoes and record them for their second still life drawing.
8th: Field Trip
RtI: These students will be completing a Pull Apart Drawing. Using a scene, students will each take one part of the drawing and add color. When completed, students will place their pieces altogether to form one drawing. This project will take a majority of the meetings for RtI.
