Monday, 9/30:
6th: Begin 4-in-1 Paintings. Students will identify various color schemes by using the color wheel. Students will draw a basic still life composition and divide it into four equal parts. Then, students will add a total of four different color schemes, one for each section.
7th: Continue Abstract Complementary Paintings. Students create a pattern with a symmetrical shape and add color by choosing from pairs of complementary colors.
8th: Continue Impressionism Paintings. Students are creating designs that use relationships between colors to show highlights and shadows.
Tuesday & Wednesday, 10/1,2:
Complete projects.
Thursday 10/3:
6th: Begin Pop Art Projects. Students will choose two images representing popular culture and add color, shape and pattern to complete the image in the pop art style.
7th: Begin Analogous Animal Paintings. Students will choose to draw one animal and then select three adjacent colors from the color wheel (analogous color scheme) and complete their painting.
8th: Begin Abstract Paintings. Students will view examples of abstract artwork that show the use of repetition, shape and variations of color. Students will choose an image to create a similar design.
Friday 10/4:
Continue projects.
RtI: Students will begin practicing silhouette designs by using their initials. Students will cute out designs of their initials in construction paper and create various designs to fill in the stencil.
