Monday & Tuesday, 9/16,17:
6th Grade: Continue and Complete Abstract Paintings, begin Monochromatic Paintings
7th Grade: Begin Still Life Shoe Drawings. Students will design a composition with two worn shoes showing various shapes and values. Students will add detail and values with combinations of colored pencil and ebony pencil.
8th Grade: Continue Monochromatic Monogram Paintings
Wednesday - Friday 9/18-20:
6th Grade: Begin Aerial Paintings. Students will observe the differences and purposes of different compositions and photographs. Next, students create a stencil for a skyline shape and repeat the shape to fill the space of their painting. Students will then observe the differences of warm and cool colors according to a color wheel and also learn some basic ideas of color theory about these colors. Students will then arrange the colors in a progression of warm to cool colors along their skyline shapes.
7th Grade: Begin Op Art Projects. Students will observe the ways to manipulate line and shape to create visual effects in artwork. Students will then begin their own projects to create these effects.
8th Grade: Begin Impressionism Paintings. Students will observe the differences of the Impressionism style and other, preceding classical styles of art. Next, students will create their own paintings that uses combinations of color in the Impressionist style.
