Monday and Tuesday, 10/21 & 22:
6th: Begin Treasure Boxes: Students will create boxes from clay by using the slab construction process. Students will also add surface designs to the sides and top of their boxes.
7th: Sculptural Paintings. For this project, students will create a 2-dimensional design for a painting. Next, students will take a small portion of the painting to complete in a small clay form to attach to the surface as a combination of two and three dimensional work.
8th: Begin State Projects. Students will begin working with clay as they select a state shape to create. Next, students will select three facts from the state and construct smaller pieces from clay that represent these facts. Finally, students will attach the pieces to their state shape, add color and also an informational sign that explains the facts.
Wednesday – Friday, 10/23-10/25:
6th: Continue/Complete Treasure Boxes.
7th: Clay Name Plates: Students will create their name letters in clay and attach them to a bigger platform that also shows other clay pieces representing their interests and personality.
8th: Students will continue/complete state projects.
