6th grade
Monday: Students will learn about direct and Indirect information that should never be shared online.
Tuesday: Students will finish notes over Direct and Indirect information, learn about social networking safety, and practice identifying direct and indirect information.
Wednesday: Students will learn about Internet Predators.
Thursday: Students will learn about Internet predators and how to report dangerous activity online.
Friday: Students will learn about sexting (what it is, the consequences, and what they should do if they receive a sext).
7th grade
Monday: Students will finish notes over anorexia and begin the movie, "Dying to be Thin."
Tuesday: Students will finish the movie, "Dying to be Thin".
Wednesday: Students will read the article, "The Lost Boys" and complete a reflection over the article.
Thursday: Students will learn about Bulimia and create a venn diagram to compare and contrast the signs and symptoms of anorexia and bulimia.
Friday: Students will be read excerpts from a People Magazine article and will practice identifying signs and symptoms of eating disorders. Students will learn about the do's and the don'ts of helping a friend who has and eating disorder.
8th grade
Monday: Students will learn about drug paraphernalia and drug testing.
Tuesday: In class activity. Students will learn about marijuana.
Wednesday: Students will learn about marijuana and answer a writing prompt correcting some common misconceptions people believe about marijuana. Drug unit project will be introduced.
Thursday: Students will learn about synthetic drugs (K2 and bath salts).
Friday: Students will learn about "date rape" drugs. Drug unit project groups will be announced as well as which drug each group is assigned to present over.
RTI: Week 2 (scary story week)
Monday: Finish coloring contest.
Tuesday: Scary story day (students will be read various scary stories).
Wednesday: The class will create their own scary story (each student will create a line and the next student will add to it, etc).
Thursday: Students will be given a writing prompt and will write their own scary story.
Friday: Students will share their scary stories they wrote the previous day and they will vote whose they thought was scariest.
