Monday: Students will learn about the short and long-term effects of tobacco.
Tuesday: Students will watch a short video called, “I Can’t Breathe” and complete a reflection.
Wednesday: Students will create anti smoking posters.
Thursday: Students will learn about the different types of smoke and the many dangers of secondhand smoke.
Friday: No school!
7th grade
Monday: Students will begin the movie, “Dying to be Thin”
Tuesday: Students will finish the movie, “Dying to be Thin”
Wednesday: Students will learn about boys and anorexia. Students will read the article, “The Lost Boys” and complete a reflection.
Thursday: Students will begin learning about Bulimia.
Friday: No School!
8th grade
Monday: Students will learn about the Bacchus Maneuver and the class will demonstrate how to correctly
perform the skill.
Tuesday: Students will begin to read Ch. 2 of the book, Izzy Willy Nilly and complete a reflection.
Wednesday: Students will read a short article on brain development and identify ways in which the brain is still
developing during adolescence. After students finish the article, they will complete a writing prompt on why the drinking age is 21 (using information from the article they read to support their reasoning).
Thursday: Students will learn about the long-term effects of alcohol.
