6th grade
Monday: Students will watch a short video called, “I Can’t Breathe”.
Tuesday: Students will complete a reflection on the video, "I Can't Breathe" that they watched yesterday during class. Once finished, the students will go up to the SMART Board and practice labeling the lung diagram.
Wednesday: Students will learn about the different types of smoke and the many dangers of secondhand smoke.
Thursday & Friday: No School
7th grade
Monday: Students will finish learning about bulimia and then complete Connection Circles that will help them compare and contrast anorexia and bulimia.
Tuesday: Students will learn about boys and eating disorders. Students will read the article, “The Lost Boys” and complete a reflection.
Wednesday: Students will practice identifying signs/symptoms of an eating disorder and then learn how they could help a friend if they suspected they had an eating disorder.
Thursday & Friday: No School
8th grade
Monday: Students will complete a reflection over Ch. 2 of the book, Izzy Willy Nilly, that they read the previous class. Once students finish the reflection, they will participate in a continuum activity.
Tuesday: Students will learn about the long-term effects of alcohol.
Wednesday: *Introduce Extra Credit Option* Students will then participate in an activity.
