6th grade: We will finish our movie on Tuesday, take the quiz and be ready to move to the sewing unit. 6th grade doesn't need to bring any supplies for sewing. They will be supplied. We will begin with learning the different sewing tools to use and then begin learning two hand stitches.
7th grade: We will begin a review on what we learned last year during our sewing unit. If your student wasn't in Home Living last year, there will be time in class and during Rti to catch up and learn the sewing stitches from last year. Students will make a back sack. They have been saving tickets to earn their material or they may bring in $6.50 to cover the cost. This week will be spent with learning two new hand sewing stitches.
8th grade: We will finish our movie and take the quiz. Then we will move into our hand sewing unit, building on what was learned in 7th grade. If a student wasn't in home living in 7th grade, there will be time to catch up with the class.
We will review hand sewing tools and the stitches learned last year, before we move on to learning two new stitches.
Students do need their supplies for their sewing project, sleep pants. They need 2 3/4 yards of fabric and a pack of 1/2 inch elastic. if they are size L or XL they need 3 yards. Their fabric can be gotten through me by bringing in 20 tickets.
