6th grade
Monday: Students will learn about the differences between Bystanders and Upstanders and how to help a friend who is being bullied in a positive way.
Tuesday: Students are going to participate in an activity and then perform an act of kindness for someone at Lombard.
Wednesday: Students are going to start making a chain of reaction (Rachel’s Challenge).
Thursday: Introduction to the Reproductive Unit. Expectations and overview.
Friday: Students will learn about the male reproductive system.
7th grade
Monday: In class activity. Students will practice reading food labels.
Tuesday: Students will learn about obesity; what it is, risk associated with it and causes. Students will learn about portions and see how they have changed throughout the years.
Wednesday: In class activity (Fast food day).
Thursday: Students will watch a shortened, 8 minute clip, of the movie SuperSize me and then complete a short writing prompt over it.
Friday: Students will learn about healthier options they could choose from when eating out and tips to help with portion control.
8th grade
Monday: Students will continue to work on their drug project (computer lab).
Tuesday: Work on and finish drug project (in Library).
Wednesday: Students will present their drug presentations to the class.
Thursday: Introduction to sexuality unit. Students will receive a “crash course” lesson on female and male anatomy.
Friday: Students will learn about Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs)
