Monday 
No school

Tuesday
New section of class will be starting
We will go over the class sylabus and expectations

Wednesday
Students will take a quiz over reading a ruler to see what their previous knowledge is
We will start going over safety and using the equipment

Thursday
Go over quiz and students will correct them
We will continue with safety discussion and how to use the equipment

Friday

6tH grade is entering the Food and Nutrition Unit of their 12 week wheel. We begin with food Lab expectations and contract and then move onto the food groups and My Plate exercises.

7th grade will continue working on the sewing projects.

8th grade are making their 3-D room project display boxes.

6th grade topics - We will put our new sewing stitches to work and make a pin cushion at the beginning or the week and then pick out the fabric for our pillows. Pillows projects will finish out the week and go into next. week.

7th grade topics - They are also putting their newly learned backstitch into good use making a pin cushion. 7th grade then moves into learning the parts of the sewing machine.

8th grade topics - We will be finishing our game building, present the games in class and take time to play! 8th grade then moves to their Room design unit. If they haven't done

6th grade has begun their hand sewing unit. This week we focus on the basic tools, threading a needle, tying a knot and learn two stitches, the running stitch and the overcast stitch. They will use both of these stitches to complete their pillow projects.

7th grade is also entering their sewing unit. After a review of hand sewing this week, they will progress into using the sewing machine.

8th grade will finish their short unit on Child Development by designing and building their own folder game appropriate for a child 4-6 years of age.
They need to bring a shoe box into class for the upcoming room design project.

6th grade topics- We have finished with ch 1, Focusing on You and will be watching a DVD, concerning kids and making good choices. The classes will then be moving into their sewing unit covering expectations, signing a sewing contract and learning the tools needed to complete their project.

7th grade topics - We have finished Ch 2, Family and will be watching the 1968 version of Yours, Mine & Ours about two single parent families who blend into one large family. After the movie, class will move to sewing covering expectations, signing a sewing rules contract and reviewing the tools.

8th grade topics for the week include Child Development, babysitting and Learning through play. I would like to brag on my 8th grade students who have been making blankets to donate. They are doing a great job.

I hope to see you on Thursday a conferences. Stop in room 115 and see what we have been doing.

Monday & Tuesday:   Students will continue to learn about the male reproductive system and how to keep the male system healthy. 
Wednesday & Thursday: The students will be given a short quiz over the male reproductive system & then participate in a review over all the male reproductive notes (TIC-TAC-TOE). 
Friday: Students will learn about the female reproductive system
7th grade 
Monday & Tuesday: In class activity (Tasty Food Experiment). 
Wednesday & Thursday: Review for Nutrition Test.  STUDY! Test is tomorrow! 
Friday:  Nutrition Test.
8th grade
Monday & Tuesday: Students will learn about sexual orientation. 
Wednesday & Thursday: Students will have the opportunity in class to read various issues of the magazine, Sex, Etc. These magazines are produced for teens by teens and provide a vast amount of education regarding adolescent sexual health. 
Friday: Students will learn about teen pregnancy.

6th grade will be finishing up their chapter on "Focusing on You". They will have a test on Friday. Because of ISATs I will see 3rd hour on M-W-F and 4th hour on T-H-F.

7th grade will finish their chapter on "Family" They will also have a test on Friday. Because of ISATs I will see 4th hour M-W-F and 6th hour T-H-F.

8th grade will be able to finish their sleep pant projects this week. Because of ISATs I will see 7th hour M-W-F and 8th hour T-H-F. The students who have finished their projects are working on scrap quilts we will donate to charity.
