Monday & Tuesday 11/4,5:
6th: Students are completing their treasure boxes by adding paint as they are ready from the kiln.
Students are also completing their masks by adding paint to the surface for their designs.
7th: Students are completing their name sculptures with construction and/or paint and also completing their wire figures.
The last day for students to use clay is Tuesday, 11/5.
8th: Students are adding paint to their state sculptures as they are ready from the kiln.
Students are also completing their yearbook cover designs.
Wednesday, 11/6:
All Classes: Students will participate in a review of clay terms and procedures they have used with previous projects. Together, students will place processes in correct orders and match terms to definitions of clay forms and tools.
Thursday 11/7:
6th and 7th: Students will complete any remaining work on projects and will participate in a class project of painting designs on class cabinets and carts.
8th: Students will begin their next clay sculpture. By viewing a variety of representational and name sculptures, students will choose to create a sculpture of an abstract idea or one that represents their personality/interests. Students will complete a pre-planning worksheet where they determine their design, which processes and tools to use and what challenges they might encounter.
Friday, 11/8:
6th and 7th: Participate in class project and End of Term Celebration. Students receive awards based on showing progress, participation and achievement.
8th: Students will continue to plan and construct their sculpture.
