Monday: MLK Day Tuesday: Review! Wednesday: Students will learn about and practice using various refusal skill techniques they could use if someone asked to use a tobacco product. Thursday: Students will practice using the various refusal skill techniques they learned about yesterday. After students practice, students will learn about smokeless tobacco. Friday: Media Day! If time is left in class, students will participate in tobacco tic-tac-toe. 7th grade Monday: MLK Day Tuesday: Students will review the connections circles they completed on Friday. Students will then practice identifying signs/symptoms of an eating disorder and then learn how they could help a friend if they suspected they had an eating disorder. Wednesday: Media Day! Thursday: Review for test. STUDY! Test is on TOMORROW! Friday: Eating Disorders Test 8th grade Monday: MLK Day! Tuesday: Media Day! (8thgrade classes will only be 30 minutes long today due to Gale Scholars Assembly at 2pm). Wednesday: Students will watch an Intervention episode and practice identifying the signs of alcoholism. Thursday: Students will finish watching the Intervention episode. Once episode is over, students will turn in their Intervention reflection sheet, and begin working on their alcohol study guide. Friday: Students will finish the alcohol study guide (8th grade classes will only be 30 minutes long today due to PBIS school wide celebration at 2pm). RTI: ISAT Test Preparations Math RTI Students will practicing basic theory skills with a team keyboarding activity.

Thursday – Discuss bottom of bowl (foot or flat) and ways of decorating. Friday – Design and decorate ceramic bowls. 7th Grade: Monday – Continue work on final acrylic paintings. Tuesday – Continue work on final acrylic paintings. Wednesday – Final day to complete acrylic paintings. Thursday – Discuss ceramic process. Begin shaping two pinch pot bowls of clay. Friday – Attach pinch pot bowls together to create hollow clay sphere (love pot). 8th Grade: Monday – Blind contour line drawings and value scale. Tuesday – Blending a value and applying value to simple objects (sphere and cube). Wednesday – Begin still life drawing with focus on hand-eye communication & value. Monday: Students will learn about the short and long-term effects of tobacco. Tuesday: Students will review short-term effects of tobacco and calculate the cost of supporting a tobacco addiction. Wednesday: Students will watch a short video called, “I Can’t Breathe”. Thursday: Students will complete a reflection on the video, "I Can't Breathe" that they watched yesterday during class. Once finished, the students will go up to the SMART Board and practice labeling the lung diagram. Friday: Students will learn about the different types of smoke and the many dangers of secondhand smoke. 7th grade Monday: Students will watch clips from the movie, “Dying to be Thin” Tuesday: Students will learn about boys and anorexia. Students will read the article, “The Lost Boys” and complete a reflection. Wednesday: Students will begin learning about Bulimia. Thursday: Students will complete Connection Circles that will help them compare and contrast anorexia and bulimia. Friday: Students will practice identifying signs/symptoms of an eating disorder and then learn how they could help a friend if they suspected they had an eating disorder. 8th grade Monday: Students will learn about the short-term effects of alcohol. Tuesday: Students will learn about the Bacchus Maneuver and the class will demonstrate how to correctly perform the skill. Wednesday: *Introduce Extra Credit Option* Students will begin to read Ch. 2 of the book, Izzy Willy Nilly. Thursday: Students will complete a reflection over Ch. 2 of the book, Izzy Willy Nilly, that they read the previous class. Once students finish the reflection, they will participate in a conintuum activity. Friday: Students will learn about the long-term effects of alcohol.
